Virtual 3D goes real 3D - city to give away
(2012-01)

A pocket size 3D city model: Scopulus from Braunschweig used GTA data to produce a city model using milling technology, acrylic glass and illumination. A part of the 3D city model Wolfsburg was processed at the scale 1:20.000 to make an elegant present. Milling technology is also suitable to make high-quality wooden models.

Virtual 3D goes real 3D - Regional marketing for Ilmenau campus
(2011-10)

The cooperation of 5 companies directed by John Software GmbH Ilmenau made the fast production of a model showing the technology region Ilmenau possible. The model displays research institutions and neighbouring companies supplementing the large industrial plants at the Erfurter Kreuz area. In the first week of October 2011, the model (scale 1:1.000) was presented at the EXPO REAL in Munich. GTA generated a digital terrain model as well as the buildings from stereo aerial photography. The buildings were printed with a Z-printer (ULFTELLER 3DDRUCK), DTM and buildings were also used for a 3D PDF of the area (John Software GmbH).

Virtual 3D goes real 3D - Industrial area "At the airport" Altenburg-Nobitz
(2011-10)

Real models are very fashionable at the EXPO REAL in Munich. For the second time on behalf of the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft, GTA produced in cooperation with ULFTELLER 3D DRUCK a model of an industrial area in Thuringia. GTA generated the 3D buildings from stereo aerial photography and designed the cartography for the model. The buildings and an aeroplane were printed with a Z-printer (scale 1:1.000).

Virtual 3D goes real 3D - Three-dimensional multimedia model in Stade museum
(2011-06)

A large three-dimensional multimedia model is one of the new highlights of the exhibition on town history of Stade in Lower Saxony. On the ground floor of the museum Schwedenspeicher, which was reopened in May 2011 after a 8 months reconstruction period, the model leads in 6 episodes through the historic development of the town.

GTA measured a digital terrain model and 3D buildings using stereo aerial photography. For the outer parts of the town road infrastructure and watercourses were captured as a printable relief.

The model was printed with a Z-printer by ULFTELLER 3D DRUCK at a scale of 1:700. The media concept and production was realized by FrameGrabber Medien GmbH Hamburg, a projector overlays the model with additional information, three screens show different perspectives.

Virtual 3D goes real 3D - 3D city model Unna
(2011-05)

A digital 3D city model can be visualized on a computer screen but using modern 3D printing technology, it is also possible to convert it into a physical model. For the 3D model of Unna GTA used stereo aerial photography to measure a digital terrain model and 3D buildings.

ULFTELLER 3D DRUCK marked listed buildings with a colour and printed the 3D city model with a Z-printer. The model has a scale of 1:500 and 25 tiles of A4 size.

The model was realized by Architektur Forum Unna e.V. with the financial help of sponsors and can be admired in the town hall of Unna.

Automatic generation of 3D city models at the CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, March 1.-5.
(2011-02)

tridiconTM 3D uses stereo aerial imagery or LiDAR data to generate 3D city models

From March 1st until 5th at the CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, Germany, GTA Geoinformatik GmbH proudly presents its new software solution tridiconTM 3D for the automatic generation of 3D city models.

In an automatic process tridiconTM 3D delivers high quality models in level of detail 2 (LOD 2) from stereo aerial imagery. Other suitable data sources are LiDAR data (airborne laserscanning) and stereo satellite imagery. Furthermore a digital terrain model and building footprints are used.

tridiconTM 3D enables commercial users, municipalities and state offices to produce high quality 3D city models in LOD 2 fast, area-wide and cost-effectively.

Additional modules complete the software solution regarding data management, update and editing, analysis and visualisation of 3D city models.

On request data of interested companies or municipalities will be tested regarding their suitability.

Virtual 3D goes real 3D - GTA at the EXPO REAL 2010 in Munich
(2010-10)

Large areas suitable for industrial location are rare. Industrial and commercial park "Erfurter Kreuz" in Thuringia offers an excellent location in the middle of Europe that has still enough space even for large industrial plants.
To market this area successfully the Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen (land developing association Thuringia) decided to attract potential investors at the EXPO REAL in Munich with a real (not virtual) 3D model.
In a project period of only two months cooperating companies GTA and ULFTELLER3DDRUCK completed flight mission, 3D modelling of relevant buildings, production of orthophotos and cartography. The buildings were printed on a Z-printer and assembled on tables with the aerial map. A nice eye-catcher! Read more (in German)

Müritzeum in 3D - regional cooperation
(2010-08)

UFO or old ship? In any case the Müritzeum building in Waren (Müritz) which was opened in 2007 is an interesting piece of architecture that is worth a visit. Now this is possible in the internet with the help of Google Earth: on request of the Müriteum GTA made a virtual 3D model of the building. You can look at it from all sides: Have a look at Müritzeum.
Nevertheless it is worth a real visit as not only the building is interesting but also the exhibition inside.
